Travis Bacot, C.P.L. Managing Partner
Travis has over 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, specializing in Acquisition and Divestitures, Land, Industry Contracts, Title Disputes, Land Related Operations, and Accounting. He graduated from LSU with a B.S. in Finance and a minor in internal auditing. He has been qualified and has given expert testimony in the United States Western District, and the Louisiana State District Court. He is currently engaged in several cases across multiple jurisdictions.
Charles Cusack III Managing Partner
Charles is trained, experienced, and proficient in all areas of oil and gas exploration and exploitation. Over his 40+ years of experience he has worked 249 Gulf Coast and Gulf of Mexico fields. Charles graduated from Texas A&M with a BS in Engineering Geology, and has attended over 50 technical courses including seismic interpretation, reservoir engineering, risk assessment, and management training.
Firm History
Travis and Charles began working together in 2009 in the Haynesville Shale. They worked several major basins over the years including the Permian, Eagle Ford, Bakken, Delaware, and South Midland Basins. Together they co-founded Recoil Resources in 2018 and began buying acreage and drilling wells in the Eagle Ford Shale. After successfully building an acreage position of over 75,000 acres and drilling 50+ horizontal wells the company was sold in Late 2024.
